At least 4 cores (not sure if FCPX can utilize more than that but more will help if you generally have more than one task running) the higher the clock speed (measured in ghz) the better(really this should be above 4.0 ghz with today's cores). So you need a fast place for first and foremost. I'm not sure for FCPX but I going to assume its usage is similar to premiere or davinci.
